Privacy Policy

SmartSide, Inc. (“SmartSide,” “we,” “us”) operates an odds-comparison, bet-tracking, and betting-research companion at smartside.bet and its mobile apps (the “Service”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information.
1. Overview
SmartSide is an information and companion tool for sports bettors. We help you compare odds across sportsbooks, track your own bets, and study your betting performance. We are not a sportsbook, we do not accept, place, or process wagers, and we do not hold gambling funds. Using the Service means you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.
2. Data we collect
We collect only what is needed to run the Service and improve it:
Account (Firebase Auth)
Email address, display name, password hash (managed by Firebase — we never see plaintext passwords), Google account identifier if you sign in with Google, and email-verification status.
Profile & preferences (Firestore)
Favorite sports, preferred sportsbooks, your state/region, bankroll size, unit sizing, age-verification flag, and your notification settings.
Bet & performance data (Firestore)
Bets you log or import (event, market, odds, stake, result), tags, closing-line value, tracker history, and any capper picks you follow or tail.
Billing (Stripe)
Subscription tier, Stripe customer and subscription IDs, and billing status. Card numbers are handled entirely by Stripe — SmartSide never stores full card details.
Analytics (GA4 & Meta Pixel)
Pages viewed, referring source, approximate location, device/browser type, and interaction events, collected via Google Analytics 4 and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel.
Notifications (Web Push / FCM / APNs)
Push subscription endpoints and device tokens used to deliver line alerts, capper picks, and steam notifications you opt into.
Referrals
Your referral code and records of accounts that signed up through your link, so credit can be attributed.
Device & log data
IP address, timestamps, and error/diagnostic logs generated automatically when you use the Service.
3. How we use your data
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Show odds, value bets, and features personalized to your sports, books, and region.
- Store and analyze the bets you track so we can show ROI, win rate, and closing-line value.
- Process and manage your subscription and billing through Stripe.
- Send the alerts and emails you opt into, and transactional messages (e.g. billing receipts).
- Measure product usage and marketing performance so we can improve the Service.
- Detect abuse, enforce our Terms, and comply with legal obligations.
We rely on your consent (marketing analytics, optional notifications), the performance of our contract with you (running your account and subscription), and our legitimate interests (security, product improvement) as the legal bases for processing.
4. Third-party services
We share data only with the processors required to operate the Service:
- Google Firebase — authentication and Firestore database hosting.
- Stripe — subscription payments and billing management.
- Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
- Google Analytics 4 and Meta Pixel — usage and marketing analytics.
- The Odds API — sportsbook odds data (no personal data is sent to it).
- Resend — transactional and alert emails.
- Anthropic — AI pick breakdowns; matchup context is sent, not your identity.
These providers act as our processors under their own security and privacy commitments. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with sportsbooks. When you click an outbound sportsbook or affiliate link, you leave SmartSide and that sportsbook’s own privacy policy applies.
6. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or irreversibly anonymize your profile, tracked bets, alerts, notifications, and preferences, and we remove your Firebase authentication record. Some records may be retained where required for legal, tax, fraud- prevention, or accounting purposes (for example, Stripe payment records), and backups are purged on a rolling schedule.
7. Your rights & account deletion
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly in the app:
- Update your profile, email, and preferences under Settings.
- Permanently delete your account and associated data under Settings → Delete account. This removes your Firestore records and your Firebase authentication user, and it cannot be undone.
You can also email us at privacy@smartside.bet to make a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by our infrastructure providers. Access to production data is limited to authorized personnel. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and regulators of a breach where legally required.
9. Age restriction
SmartSide is intended only for adults who are of legal sports-wagering age in their jurisdiction — generally 21 or older (18+ where permitted). The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it. 10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves or the law changes. We will revise the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
